"Lack Of Common Sense": DC Star Blasted After Golden Duck Against MI

Australian opener Jake Fraser-McGurk 's disappointing IPL 2025 season continued as he got out first ball in Delhi Capitals' (DC) 206-run chase against Mumbai Indians (MI). With Faf du Plessis absent and a big score to chase, a lot of onus was on Fraser-McGurk to put his poor form behind and contribute big. However, he got out first ball to Deepak Chahar , sending a catch straight to Will Jacks at short cover. As a result, Chahar was heavily criticised by the broadcasting commentary panel. "Just impatient. Lack of common sense to just have a look at the situation. Hits it straight to extra cover. It's a brilliant start for Mumbai Indians, but was gifted, gifted by Jake Fraser-McGurk," said former New Zealand cricketer and reputed commentator Simon Doull. Fraser-McGurk got out on the very first ball of the DC innings. With Deepak Chahar taking the new ball, the Australian hit it hard but straight to the fielder. He has been able to score only 46 runs in five in...

Rohit Makes Huge Unwanted Record After Flopshow With The Bat In DC vs MI

Former Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma's dreadful run in the Indian Premier League (IPL) continued with another mediocre outing on a placid strip against Delhi Capitals on an action-packed Sunday. Rohit and Ryan Rickelton tried to exploit the benign conditions by adopting a belligerent approach against the table-toppers after being put to bat. Rohit showed signs of positivity by clobbering Mitchell Starc in the second over. With two boundaries and a sole six, Rohit looked set for an extended stay on the crease. However, he lost the plot while trying to find the balance between aggression and caution. The seasoned opener went for a sweep, missed the ball completely and was pinned in front of the stumps. With another failure to his name, Rohit returned to the dressing room with 18(12). After another flop show, Rohit now has the second-lowest batting average as an opener since IPL 2023 among players who have at least played a minimum of 25 innings. Since IPL 2023, Rohit has ave...

MI Just Need Collective Performances To Win By Big Margin, Says Chahar

Two of Mumbai Indians' four defeats in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 came by 12 runs, meaning only two sixes were the difference between winning and losing for the five-time champions. Fast-bowling all-rounder Deepak Chahar admitted the side hasn't yet peaked as a unit, and felt a collective strong performance will lead them to a big victory. In IPL 2025, Mumbai Indians have stood up to their reputation of being slow starters, winning just one out of five games so far and being in eighth place in the points table. The Hardik Pandya-led side will be aiming to get their campaign back on track if they manage to stop Delhi Capitals' (DC) unbeaten run at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday evening. "Look, it's been a long time, and I have gone from one big franchise to another (CSK to MI), so I think there are a lot of similarities because the mindset is the same, which is to win matches. Plus, when one or two matches are up and down, you don't have to panic; you...

IPL 2025: DC's Ashutosh Stresses On "See Ball, Hit Ball" Mantra vs MI

Ahead of his side's match against five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI), Delhi Capitals (DC) batter Ashutosh Sharma said that while facing a MI bowling line-up featuring star pacer Jasprit Bumrah, he would "keep things simple and see ball, hit the ball". DC is on a roll and would be aiming to make it five wins in five and stay at the top of the points table against five-time champions MI, who have just won one of their five matches and sit at eighth spot in the points tally. The match will be DC's first at Arun Jaitley Stadium, their primary home venue. Speaking ahead of the game in the pre-match presser, Ashutosh said, as quoted by a DC press release, "I do not think too much. I keep things simple. It is just about watching the ball and hitting the ball. That is all; that is my belief." On skipper Axar Patel's captaincy, Ashutosh said, "Axar Patel's captaincy is very good. He is leading the team really well, and all the youngsters are very c...

RCB To Wear Green Jerseys Against RR To Raise Awareness About Conservation

"Have To Accept...": Dejected Dhoni's Blunt Admission After Huge CSK Loss

A disappointed Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni on Friday blamed his batters for the heavy defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders and urged them to avoid desperation and instead focus on better application to arrest the slide in the upcoming IPL matches. CSK were restricted to 103 for nine, as KKR chased down the target in just 10.1 overs, handing the five-time champions their biggest defeat in IPL history in terms of balls remaining. "It has been quite a few nights that has not gone our way. The challenge has been there, we have to accept the challenge. Today I felt we did not have enough runs on the board," Dhoni said after the match. "It has been the case over here (Chepauk), when we bowled in the 2nd innings it stopped a bit, today it did in the first innings. When you lose too many wickets, there is pressure and with quality spinners it is difficult." It was yet another dismal batting performance by the five-time champions, who were completely dismantled by...

"Brain Stopped Working?" Dhoni Faces Savage Question After CSK's Loss

MS Dhoni -led Chennai Super Kings slumped to their biggest defeat in the IPL (in terms of balls remaining) on Friday. The five-time champions could manage only 103/9 in 20 overs against Kolkata Knight Riders, which the defending champions chased down in just 10.1 overs. This was CSK's fifth loss in six matches in the IPL 2025 and the side is placed ninth among 10 teams. This is also the first time in IPL history that CSK have lost three matches on the trot at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai in the IPL. After the loss, former India player and MS Dhoni's ex-teammate Manoj Tiwary had some blunt questions.  "From hereon CSK's cart is going to go downhill. It seemed like that from the last three-four matches. You see the shot selection of the players, after playing form 20-25 years, you get to realise what can happen. I couldn't understand some things. CSK 'Have Reached Patal Lok': Ex-India Star Loses It After Flop Show

Former Indian cricket team spinner Murali Kartik believes that Chennai Super Kings have reached their lowest point following the loss against Kolkata Knight Riders on Friday. With five losses in six matches, CSK are ninth in the competition and their flop show has resulted in a lot of criticism from both experts as well as fans. Following the humiliating loss against KKR, Kartik urged the five-time champions to 'collectively dig in' and try to reverse the situation. The former India star also referenced RCB's run in IPL 2024 where they won six matches on the trot after a shocking start to their season. "You can only come upwards from here. You cannot go any lower. It feels like they have reached patal lok (hell). The way this season has gone, you think that this is now my team and what I can do with it. The more you can collectively dig deep from here, the more you can reverse the situation like RCB did last year. They said that let us have a deep look at ourselves a...

Dhoni's Reaction After Replacing Gaikwad As CSK Captain: "Had No..."

MS Dhoni will once again lead Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. When CSK get down to action against Kolkata Knight Riders in an IPL 2025 match in Chennai on Friday, all eyes will be on the most successful IPL captain - MS Dhoni. However, the situation that CSK find itself in is not at all ideal. The five-time champions have lost four out of five matches, they are placed 9th in the 10-team league and now regular captain Ruturaj Gaikwad is also out due to an elbow injury. In this scenario, MS Dhoni steps in to revive CSK's campaign.    CSK coach Stephen Fleming said MS Dhoni was not at all averse to the idea of leading CSK again.  "He had no hesitation to step up and help guide us out of this if we can," Fleming said. "So that was never a doubt. We'll look at replacements. We've got some good players in the squad that have been with us a while, so we'll look from within first. But yeah, there is an opportunity to see how we can enhance the squad probably...

IPL 2025 Points Table: GT Go Top Of Table With Win Over RR

Image
Sai Sudharsan's classy fifty combined with a collective bowling effort powered Gujarat Titans to a commanding 58-run win over Rajasthan Royals in their IPL clash in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. Sudharsan lit up the evening with a dazzling 53-ball 82, while explosive cameos from Jos Buttler (36), Shahrukh Khan (36), and Rahul Tewatia (24) propelled GT to a formidable 217/6. The bowlers then kept chipping away, striking at regular intervals to keep Rajasthan on the back foot despite fighting knocks from Shimron Hetmyer (52) and skipper Sanju Samson (41). The visitors were eventually bowled out for 159 in 19.1 overs. Sudharsan was in sublime touch, effortlessly finding gaps and punishing anything loose. His fluent knock, laced with eight boundaries and three sixes, formed the bedrock of GT's imposing total. Defending 217, pacers Mohammed Siraj (1/30) and Arshad Khan (1/19) struck early to give GT the perfect start. Arshad drew first blood, removing the dangerous Yashasvi Jaiswal ...

Dhoni looked in great touch as he slammed one four and three sixes to take the run chase down to the wire. It Would Be Honour To Coach Team India: Zaheer Khan

Zaheer Khan, former Indian left-arm fast bowler and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) mentor for the Indian Premier League, has said that it will be an honour if he gets an opportunity to coach Team India. Following his retirement, Zaheer Khan worked as a bowling coach with Mumbai Indians in international cricket prior to accepting a position as a mentor at LSG in 2024. Jitesh Sharma and Yash Dayal collided on the field as they ended up missing a catch during the IPL 2025 encounter between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Mumbai Indians on Monday. Sent at number four, Washington Sundar too showed his class with a 29-ball 49 as GT registered their third win in four outings, even as SRH suffered their fourth defeat in five matches. The chase of 153 was completed with as many as 20 balls to spare, with Gill making an unbeaten 61 off 43 balls. Bowling first, GT restricted SHR to 152 for eight with left-arm spinner R Sai Kishore (2/24) and seamer Prasidh Krishna (2/25) too performing admirably on a slow surface. Mohammed Shami (2/28) and Pat Cummins (1/26) brought SRH back into the contest with their early strikes as GT found themselves at a tricky 16 for two in the fourth over. "My Concern For England...": Aus Great Criticises Bazball, Predictis Ashes

Former Australian pacer Jason Gillespie backed Australia to retain the Ashes 2025-26 series at home, saying that the conditions will offer enough support to Australian bowlers but that England could falter with the bat in Australian conditions, costing them the prestigious series. The Ashes series 2025-26 will kickstart in Perth from November 21 onwards. Currently, the Ashes urn is with England following a 2-2 draw in the UK. England has not won a Test in Australia since 2011, when they last won the series. They had lost all two previous series in Australia by 4-0 and faced a whitewash in 2013. They have not held the prestigious urn at home either, drawing the series in 2019 and 2023. Speaking on Wisden Cricket Patreon channel, the former pacer, a four-time Ashes winner himself, said, as quoted by Wisden, "I do not think so. I think Australia play incredibly well in home conditions. My concern for England is, how are they going to take 20 wickets? But also, are they adaptable eno...

Most of the Indian cricketers from the current generation grew up idolising the trio of Sachin Tendulkar , Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly . However, Rajasthan Royals (RR) batter Nitish Rana has recalled that he would cry in his room if Tendulkar and Dravid played while Ganguly got out early. Speaking in a recent podcast, Nitish revealed he idolised fellow-southpaw Ganguly, while his father and brother liked Tendulkar and Dravid, recently, which, in turn, led to occasional fights due to the competition. "Dad was a huge Sachin Tendulkar fan. I loved Sourav Ganguly and my brother liked Rahul Dravid sir. So, in our house, whenever India played, fights were inevitable.
